In the name of the President of the United States, the Commanding General, Fleet Marine Force, Pacific takes pleasure in presenting the

BRONZE STAR MEDAL to

LANCE CORPORAL KENNETH L. ROBINSON

UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS

for service as set forth in the following

CITATION:

"For heroic achievement in connection with operations against insurgent communist (Viet Cong) forces while serving with Company L, Third Battalion, Third Marines on 1 January 1966 in the Republic of Vietnam.  During an ambush patrol in the Battalion's Tactical Area of Responsibility south of DaNang, Lance Corporal ROBINSON was acting as a point.  As the patrol was moving from one site to another, it suddenly came upon some Viet Cong.  Without consideration for his personal safety, Lance Corporal ROBINSON immediately opened fire and gave warning to the patrol. After the Viet Cong broke contact, Lance Corporal ROBINSON was sent with his fire team to search the area for enemy bodies and weapons.  In so doing, Lance Corporal ROBINSON again came upon the Viet Cong.  This time, with bullets kicking up earth all around him, he led his men in an aggressive manner until the rest of the squad could come to their aid.  Lance Corporal ROBINSON's initiative and courageous actions resulted in dealing a damaging blow to the Viet Cong while protecting the patrol from heavy losses and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service."

Lance Corporal ROBINSON is authorized to wear the Combat “V”

For the President
